8. Apply Consistent Pressure

9. Allow the Weld to Cool
Avoid placing unnecessary stress on the joint while the polyethylene is still hot.
10. Inspect the Weld
Check the completed joint for consistent fusion, contamination, overheating, voids and other visible defects appropriate to the application.

Hot Air Welding HDPE
Hot air plastic welding is a common method for joining and repairing HDPE.
A hot air welder directs controlled heated air toward the HDPE base material and compatible welding rod. As both surfaces soften, the operator feeds the filler rod into the prepared joint while applying pressure.
